New Zealand prepares for Analogue Switch-Off

- New Zealand is well advanced in its digital switchover. On 30 September, the regions of West Coast in the South Island and Hawke's Bay in the North Island are set to become the first areas in the country to complete the process. Depending on where they live, viewers will need to switch to either digital terrestrial or satellite reception. And already, 90% of viewers in Hawke's Bay and 92% of viewers in the West Coast have converted to digital television.

- Analogue switch-off will continue through 3 phases until the process is completed on 1 December 2013. The rest of the South Island will switch on 28 April 2013 followed by Lower North Island and East Coast on 29 September 2013 and the final phase will finish on Upper North Island on 1 December 2013.
